Protection level: The core advantage of IP66

IP66 is one of the highest levels of the international protection level standard (IEC 60529), and its specific meaning is:
Dustproof (IP6X): completely prevent dust from entering, and pass the negative pressure sand and dust box test to ensure that there is no dust residue inside;
Waterproof (IPX6): can withstand strong water spray from any direction (water flow rate 100L/min, lasting 3 minutes), such as heavy rain, fire water cannon impact, etc., without harmful intrusion.

IP65: only protects against low-pressure water spray, IP66 is more suitable for strong water flow environment;
NEMA 4X: Although both are high protection, NEMA 4X requires corrosion protection (such as stainless steel), while IP66 does not specify this item, which needs to be supplemented by material selection.

 

It has passed international certifications such as UL, CE, and ISO 14001. The raw materials can be traced back to RMI-compliant mines. The production process uses cyanide-free electroplating technology, and the nickel content of wastewater is less than 0.1mg/L (better than GB 21900-2008 standard).

What is the essential difference between IP66 protection level and NEMA 4X? How to choose according to the scene?

IP66 is an International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard, which only defines dustproof (level 6) and waterproof (level 6), and does not require corrosion resistance;
NEMA 4X is a US standard. In addition to dustproof and waterproof, it also requires the shell to have corrosion resistance (such as stainless steel material and surface coating).

Corrosive environment: NEMA 4X is more suitable for chemical and coastal scenes (due to mandatory corrosion resistance), and IP66 needs to select stainless steel or anti-corrosion coating materials to make up for it;
Cost-effectiveness: For ordinary outdoor non-corrosive scenes, IP66 carbon steel/plastic materials are more economical; for high-corrosion scenes, IP66 stainless steel (equivalent to NEMA 4X protection) is essentially the same as NEMA 4X, and the naming difference comes from regional standards.
